Adjust background music volume and lower volume during speech

Control background music volume and automatic ducking under spoken audio.

Use these settings when the background music is too loud, too quiet, or drops more than expected while someone is speaking.

Steps

  1. Open the project in the Trebble Editor.

  2. Click the background music icon or background audio element in the transcript.

  3. Use the volume control in the background music settings panel to raise or lower the music.

  4. Use lower volume during speech when you want Trebble to automatically duck the music under spoken audio.

  5. Turn lower volume during speech off if the music should stay at a constant level.

  6. Preview the section before exporting.

When to use lower volume during speech

  • Turn it on for podcasts, voiceovers, interviews, and narration where the voice should stay clear.

  • Turn it off for music-only sections, intros, outros, or moments where the music should stay full volume.

  • Adjust each background music element separately if the project has more than one music section.

If something goes wrong

  • If the music is still too quiet, turn off lower volume during speech and raise the music volume slightly.

  • If the voice is hard to hear, lower the music volume or turn lower volume during speech back on.

  • If the export sounds different from preview, retry export once and contact support with the project URL and export time.
