Mute a section without deleting it

Silence a selected section while keeping it in the project.

Use Mute selection when you want a section to stay in the project but not be heard in playback or export.

Steps

  1. Open a project in the editor.

  2. Select the words or media section you want to silence.

  3. Click Insert Element.

  4. Choose Mute selection.

  5. Play the section to confirm the timing still works.

  6. Remove the mute wrapper if you want the audio to play again.

Good to know

  • Muting is different from deleting. It keeps the section's place in the timeline.

  • Use this for coughs, side comments, or audio you need to silence while preserving timing.

  • If Mute selection does not appear, select a playable section first.
