Silences are represented by the little squares that exist in between words in the transcribed text of your audio. You can automatically trim the silences in your audio to a certain maximum (for example, you can trim your audio to have not more than three squares on each silence area). To trim silences to a particular number, take the following steps:

Step 1: On the editing page, locate and click on the Show automated actions option from the icons available at the top of your transcribed audio.

Step 2: Locate and click on Trim silences from the options on the pop-up menu.

Step 3: On the Trim silences pop-up on the right, input the maximum number of silences you want in the audio into the box (each square represents a second) and click the red Trim button.

Your audio should automatically not have more than the number of squares you input in the Trim silences bar.
